International City Ota Festival on Sky Day at Haneda 2018

29th Sep 2018, 11:30–4:00am

The annual International City Ota Festival, will take place on Saturday September 29th , promoting the city’s diversity and international character.  This time will be held on the same day as “2018 Sky Day Festival” at Haneda Airport, allowing us to collaborate and plan exciting events than previous years.

Stage Event

Former national badminton player and Olympian, Reiko Shiota will be our guest for our talk show on the main stage. There will also be performances from Japan and around the world to entertain you throughout the day. Hanepyon, Ota City’s official PR character, will also take the stage with his friends in an act produced by Hanepyon himself. (The Olympian talk show will start from 11:30am)

Rediscovering Japan and Ota Area

In this area there will be activities related to Ota and other areas around Japan, including sky-themed displays and experiences as Haneda Airport is in Ota. You can also get up close and personal with a helicopter, and even take a picture in the cockpit. Small kids are also welcome.

Connecting with the World Area

Promotional booths from all over the world will gather in this area. Each booth will offer experiences, souvenirs, or even food from their countries. At the International Booth guests are welcome to try on traditional costumes, play traditional musical instruments from around the world, or join a workshop for handmade local accessories. Local souvenirs and specialties from Ota will be displayed and sold as well.

International and Japanese Cuisine

The festival is also a great opportunity to try authentic international and Japanese dishes.  There will be food stands offering dishes from Asia to Africa so be sure to stroll around until you find your favorite.
